Koropó (Coropó) is anextinct language of easternBrazil. It has been variously classified as aMaxakalían or aPurian language.
Although Silva Neto (2007) had assumed Koropó to be aPurian language,[2] Nikulin (2020) classifies Koropó asMacro-Jê (Maxakalían branch).[3]
In the 18th century, Koropó speakers lived withCoroado Puri speakers along thePomba River inMinas Gerais.[4]
Koropó is attested by two word lists collected by German explorers in the early 1800s:[4]
