Nick Nash (born 14 April 1986), better known by thestage nameKita Mean, is a New Zealanddrag performer best known for hostingHouse of Drag and winning thefirst season ofRuPaul's Drag Race Down Under.[1]
Kita andAnita Wigl'it were both judges on the New Zealand drag competition showHouse of Drag from 2018 to 2020, where they became known as the duo Kita and Anita.[2][3] The two queens started a monthly event calledDrag Wars for local New Zealand drag artists to perform and they co-own the Caluzzi Cabaret and Phoenix Venue inAuckland.[2]
In March 2021, Kita and Anita were announced as competitors on thefirst season ofRuPaul's Drag Race Down Under.[2] Kita won themakeover challenge in episode 6, which involved giving arugby player a makeover,[4] and landed in the bottom two in episode 7, sending homeElektra Shock.[5] On 19 June 2021, Kita Mean was announced byRuPaul as the first winner ofRuPaul's Drag Race Down Under.[6][7]
In December 2021, she starred inBeauty and the Beast, apantomime show, at theIsaac Theatre Royal.[8]
She currently co-hosts theKita and Anita's Happy Hour podcast alongsideAnita Wigl'it.[9]
