Kiritkumar Mansukhlal Acharya is an Indiandermatologist, known for his services for the eradication ofleprosy.[1][2][3] TheGovernment of India honoured him, in 2014, by awarding him thePadma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, for his contributions to the fields of medicine and social service.[4]
Kiritkumar Mansukhlal Acharya, more known by his popular name, K. M. Acharya,[2] was born inSaurashtra, in the Western Indian state ofGujarat.[1] His medical career was mainly at theM. P. Shah Medical College,Jamnagar as the Professor and the Head of the Department of skin, sexually transmitted diseases (STD) and leprosy.[3] After his retirement from the service, he runs the Mahatma Gandhi Leprosy Society.[2][3]
