Kimora Blac is the stage name ofVon Nguyen,[1] anAmericandrag queen and television personality, best known for competing on theninth season ofRuPaul's Drag Race.
Von Nguyen was born on December 15, 1988, inWichita, Kansas.[2][3] She is ofVietnamese heritage. Von Nguyen grew up inElk Grove, California, then moved toLas Vegas, Nevada, where she resided when she was cast to appear onRuPaul's Drag Race. Her drag name comes fromKimora Lee Simmons and her favorite color black, with the "k" removed because "it added a twist".[4]
Kimora Blac first did amateur drag when she was fifteen withDragula contestant Melissa Befierce.[5] She started doing professional drag when she was eighteen.[6] She auditioned forDrag Race three times.[7]
Kimora Blac was announced as one of fourteen contestants for the ninth season ofRuPaul's Drag Race on February 2, 2017.[8] After being declared safe in episode one, she was placed in the bottom two in the second episode withJaymes Mansfield and won alip sync against her to "Love Shack" byThe B-52's.[9] She was eliminated in the third episode after lip syncing to "Holding Out for a Hero" byBonnie Tyler, againstAja.[10]
Kimora Blac appeared as a guest for the first challenge in the premiere ofseason eleven ofDrag Race.[11]
In September 2017, Kimora Blac recreated the September 2014 cover ofPaper magazine withKim Kardashian, which was given positive reception by Kardashian on Twitter.[12]
Kimora Blac became the host for theWOWPresents internet series, "Wait, What?" where she's asked trivia questions with alternating categories.[13] Her co-hosts for the show includedMariah,Derrick Barry,Gia Gunn,Laganja Estranja,Ongina, Jaidynn Diore-Fierce andJasmine Masters. The first episode was available onYouTube on October 8, 2018.[14]
Kimora Blac appeared as a guest for two episodes ofThe Trixie & Katya Show in March 2018.[15][16] She appeared in an episode of the television seriesBotched withTrinity the Tuck in December 2018.[17] Kimora Blac joinedEve in her lip sync performance ofSupermodel by RuPaul during her appearance onThe Talk.[18]
Kimora Blac was a featured performer duringJennifer Lopez's performance at the2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards.[19] She has a beauty and makeup channel onYouTube.
