Kim Ki-tai (Korean김기태;Hanja金杞泰; born May 23, 1969) is a formerSouth Koreanbaseball player who played for theSsangbangwool Raiders,Samsung Lions andSK Wyverns and is a former manager ofKia Tigers in theKBO League.[1] He is generally considered as the KBO's best-everdesignated hitter.

Career

During his pro career, he was used primarily as adesignated hitter, with occasional games atfirst base. As a full-time designated hitter, Kim won ahome run title in1994 and abatting title in1997. He is a four-timeKBO League Golden Glove Award-winner as well.

In2000, Kim was a member of the2000 South Korean Olympic baseball team which won the bronze medal in thebaseball tournament.

Kim managed theLG Twins from 2012 to 2014. In late 2014, Kim became the manager of theKia Tigers. In 2017, Kim successfully lead the team toKorean Series and was considered the best manager in the KBO League.[citation needed] On May 16, 2019, he resigned as manager.[2]
