Kimberly M. Holloway (born November 4, 1978) is an American politician and member of theKentucky House of Representatives fromKentucky's 2nd House district. Her district includesGraves County as well as part ofMcCracken County. She assumed office on January 1, 2025.

Background

Holloway was born inPaducah, Kentucky, and graduated fromMurray State University with aBachelor of Arts inpsychology in 2000.[1] She would later return to Murray, graduating in 2011 with aMaster of Arts in Education in school guidance and counseling. In 2014, she graduated fromLindenwood University with aMaster of Arts in professional counseling.[1]

She spent four years as a counselor for theKentucky Department of Juvenile Justice, and is currently employed as the Social Services Director of a retirement community inWestern Kentucky.[2]

Holloway was raised as a Republican, but temporarily changed her registration in 2020 and joined theLibertarian Party in protest of the government's "gross overreach" during theCOVID-19 pandemic. By 2022, she had switched her registration back to the Republican Party.[3]

Elections

  • 2022 Holloway challenged incumbent representative and Chair of the House Standing Committee on AgricultureRichard Heath in the 2024 Republican primary, however Holloway was disqualified from the ballot due to one of her signatories for her campaign filing not being a registered republican.[4] Holloway chose to continue her campaign as a write-in candidate during the2022 Kentucky House of Representatives election, but was defeated, garnering 2,300 votes (17.4%) against Heath.[5]
  • 2024 Holloway won the 2024 Republican primary with 1,904 votes (52.2%) against incumbent Richard Heath and was unopposed in the2024 Kentucky House of Representatives election, receiving 16,855 votes.[1]
