Kimberly C. Hicks (born December 20, 1982) is an American politician serving in theMinnesota House of Representatives since 2023. A member of theMinnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL), Hicks represents District 25A in southeasternMinnesota, which includes northern parts of the city ofRochester and parts ofOlmsted County.[1][2]
Hicks's family moved toRochester, Minnesota, when she was a child, and she graduated from Rochester Public Schools. She attended college atWinona State University, earning abachelor's degree in education.[1] After being initially tested fordyslexia, Hicks was diagnosed withattention deficit hyperactivity disorder in the fourth grade.[3]
Hicks was first elected to theMinnesota House of Representatives in2022. She first ran in2020, unsuccessfully challenging five-termRepublican incumbentDuane Quam. Hicks ran again in 2022, winning an open seat created by legislative redistricting.[1]
Hicks serves on the Children and Families Finance and Policy, Higher Education Finance and Policy, Human Services Finance, and Human Services Policy Committees.[1]
