Kilcolgan (Irish:Cill Cholgáin, meaning 'Colgan's church'),[2] is a village on the mouth of the Kilcolgan River at Dunkellin Bay inCounty Galway, Ireland. The settlement is at the junction of theN67 andR458 roads, which lies betweenGort andClarinbridge. The village is near the site of theGalway Bay drowning tragedy. Kilcolgan was designated as acensus town by theCentral Statistics Office for the first time in the 2016 census,[3] at which time it had a population of 141 people.[1] The village is in atownland andcivil parish of the same name.[2]

  • Moran's Oyster Cottage, historic restaurant located in a traditional thatched cottage, established in the 1760s.[7]
