Traditional footwear of Sindh and Punjab

Sindhi Khusso, Multani Khussa or simply justKhussa (Urdu:کُھسّہ), is a traditional footwear[1] produced inSindh andMultan inPakistan.[2][3][4] Khussa are hand-made by localartisans mostly using vegetable-tannedleather. The uppers of Khussa are made of one piece of leather ortextile, which is embroidered and embellished with brass nails, cowry shells, taunra, mirrors, bells andceramic beads. Even the bonding from the upper to thesole is done by cotton thread that is not onlyeco-friendly but also enmeshes the leatherfibers with great strength. Some product range also uses bright and ornate threads.[5]
