Khasan Magometovich Khalmurzaev (Russian:Хасан Магометович Халмурзаев; born 9 October 1993) is a Russianjudoka. Khasan won the gold medal in the–81 kg event at the2016 Summer Olympics.

At the2017 World Judo Championships, Khalmurzaev lost the fight toAlexander Wieczerzak in the semifinals, but won the third-place match againstOtgonbaataryn Uuganbaatar.[1]

Personal life

Khalmurzaev has a twin brother,Khusen, who is a judoka, too.[2][3] He also has three older sisters and an older brother. Their father died when Khasan was 14 years old.[4]

Khalmurzaev serves in the separate battalion of thePatrol-Guard Service of theMinistry of Internal Affairs in Ingueshetia. He is apolice sergeant.[5]

Khasan married Zalina in Nasyr-Kort,Ingushetia, on 17 September 2017.[6]
