In April 2019, Kevin Álvarez was included in the 21-player squad to represent Mexico at theU-20 World Cup in Poland.[2]

Kevin Álvarez was called up byJaime Lozano to participate with theunder-23 squad at the2019 Pan American Games,[3] with Mexico winning the third-place match.[4]

Senior

On 3 July 2021, Kevin Álvarez made hissenior national team debut in a friendly match againstNigeria.[5]

In October 2022, Kevin Álvarez was named in Mexico's preliminary 31-mansquad for the2022 FIFA World Cup, and in November, he was ultimately included in the final 26-man roster.[6]
