Kerri Kasem (bornCarrie H. Kasem, July 12, 1972)[1] is an Americanradio host. She hosted the nationally syndicatedSixx Sense andThe Side Show Countdown With Nikki Sixx from February 2010 to April 2014. Kasem later became a judge onWho Will Rock You, alongsideDee Snider of the heavy metal bandTwisted Sister.

Early life

Kasem was born inLos Angeles,California.[1] She and her siblingsMike and Julie are the three children of radio personalityCasey Kasem and his first wife, Linda Myers, to whom he was married from 1972 to 1979.[2][3]

Career

Kasem was co-host with Alan Stock onKXNT 840 AM inLas Vegas for a morning radio talk show. She left KXNT in August 2007.[citation needed] She hosted the nationally syndicatedSixx Sense andThe Side Show Countdown with Nikki Sixx from February 2010 to April 2014.[4] Other radio shows on which she worked includeRacing Rocks theNational LampoonComedy Countdown,The Solomon Free Money Hour, andPet Talk. In 2003, she was areality television show contestant onESPN'sBeg, Borrow & Deal. She has appeared on theE! channel, and is a host onUFC and onSí TV'sThe Rub.[5] She later became a co-host, with Alan Gurvey, onGurvey's Law onKABC.[6]

Kasem appeared onThe Dr. Oz Show on October 12, 2021, talking about the death of her father Casey Kasem.[7]

Personal life

Kasem is founder of Kasem Cares and the Kasem Coalition, both created to raise awareness of elder abuse.[8][9] In 2014, Kasem wonconservatorship over her father when the court found his second wife,Jean Kasem, put his life in danger.[10][11]

Kerri Kasem has been aVolunteer Minister of theChurch of Scientology[12] and participated in the church's missionary and aid program inHaiti during the2010 Haiti earthquake crisis and inTexas whenHurricane Harvey hit.[13][14]
