Kenneth R. Weiss (born May 28, 1957) is aninvestigative journalist for theLos Angeles Times.[1]

Weiss was born inCovina, California, and he graduated fromUniversity of California, Berkeley in 1981 with a B.A. in Folklore.[2] There he was editor-in-chief for the college newspaper,The Daily Californian, during his senior year.[2]

Weiss, reporterUsha Lee McFarling, and photographerRick Loomis of theL.A. Times shared thePulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting in 2007, citing "their richly portrayed reports on the world's distressed oceans, telling the story in print and online, and stirring reaction among readers and officials."[2]
