Kemoko Turay (born July 11, 1995) is an American professionalfootballlinebacker. He playedcollege football for theRutgers Scarlet Knights and was selected by theIndianapolis Colts in the second round of the2018 NFL draft.

Early life

Turay was born inMontclair, New Jersey.[1] His father is fromGuinea, while his mother is from theIvory Coast.[2]

College career

Turay attended and playedcollege football at Rutgers under head coachesKyle Flood andChris Ash.[3][4] Turay had an impressiveredshirted freshman season, with 24tackles, 8 tackles for loss, and 7.5sacks despite not starting any games.[5] After this season, he was named to the FreshmanAll-American team.[6] After his senior season, Turay was invited to the2018 Senior Bowl.[7]

Indianapolis Colts

Turay was drafted by theIndianapolis Colts in the second round, 52nd overall, of the2018 NFL draft.[11] In Week 3, against thePhiladelphia Eagles, he recorded 1.5 sacks for the first ones of his professional career.[12]

In Week 5 of the 2019 season, Turay suffered a broken ankle and was ruled out the rest of the season.[13] He was placed oninjured reserve on October 14, 2019.[14]

Turay was placed on the active/physically unable to perform (PUP) list at the start oftraining camp on July 28, 2020, and was placed on reserve/PUP to start the season.[15][16] He was activated on November 17, 2020.[17]

San Francisco 49ers

On April 14, 2022, Turay signed a one-year contract with theSan Francisco 49ers.[18] He was released on August 30, 2022, and signed to thepractice squad the next day.[19][20] He was promoted to the active roster on September 14, 2022.[21] He was released on November 26 and re-signed to the practice squad.[22]

Atlanta Falcons

On July 28, 2023, Turay signed with theAtlanta Falcons.[23] He was released on August 29, 2023, and re-signed to the practice squad.[24][25] He was released on September 18, 2023.[26]

Carolina Panthers

On July 26, 2024, Turay signed with theCarolina Panthers.[27] However, after suffering an injury he was placed on injured reserve on August 5.[28] Turay was then released off injured reserve on August 14.[29]

St. Louis Battlehawks

Turay signed with theSt. Louis Battlehawks of the UFL on October 24, 2024.[30] He was released on March 20, 2025.[31]
