Kazuo Kitamura (北村 和夫,Kitamura Kazuo; 11 March 1927 – 6 May 2007) was a Japanese actor. His son is actorYukiya Kitamura.[1][2][3] Kitamura metShōhei Imamura when he was a student ofWaseda University and became a close friend so often worked with Imamura.[2][4][5] Kitamura joinedBungakuza theatre company and started his acting career in 1950.[5] In 1953, he made his film debut withAn Inlet of Muddy Water directed byTadashi Imai.[6]
