Kazuo Kawasaki

Kazuo Kawasaki (川崎和男) is a Japaneseindustrial designer born inFukui Prefecture in 1949. He graduated fromKanazawa College of Art in 1972.Kawasaki is a professor atOsaka University and a visiting professor atTama Art University andKanazawa Institute of Technology. Representative works include thewheelchair "CARNA" (part of the permanent collection atMoMA New York[1]), the "Kazuo Kawasaki" brand ofeyeware[2] and the "EIZO" brand of computer displays.[3]

One of his research projects isartificial heart design.

Kawasaki wasApple design director in the early 1990s and designed portable computer devices (named MindTop, POPEYE, Pluto, Sweatpea, JEEP).
