Katrine Vejsgaard Veje (Danish:[kʰæˈtsʰʁiˀnəˈvɑjsˌkɒˀˈvɑjə,-ˈvɑːj];[2] born 19 June 1991) is a Danish professionalfootballer who plays as acentre-back,left back orleft wing-back for Serie A clubRoma and theDanish national team.

She has previously played forArsenal in theFA WSL,LdB FC Malmö of Sweden'sDamallsvenskan,Seattle Reign FC of theNational Women's Soccer League as well asOdense Q andBrøndby IF of Denmark'sElitedivisionen.[3]

Club career

In 2007, Veje was awarded theDanish Football Association's prize for Young Player of the Year.

Seattle Reign

In January 2015, it was announced that Veje had signed withSeattle Reign FC for thethird season of theNational Women's Soccer League in the United States.[4] Of her signing, Reign FC head coachLaura Harvey said, "I have had my eye on Katrine for many years, having first seen her when I was an assistant coach with the U17 England squad...We believe she is capable of bringing something special to our club and to the NWSL."[5] She made her first appearance for Seattle on 12 July 2015 againstPortland.[6]

Brøndby IF

In October 2015, Veje decided to return to Brøndby IF.[7] With Brøndby IF, she won the Danishleague andcup in 2017.

Montpellier HSC

In June 2017, it was announced that Veje had signed a two-year contract with theDivision 1 Féminine runners-upMontpellier HSC.[8]

Arsenal

In January 2019, it was announced that Veje had signed a contract withArsenal.[9]

Everton

On 19 July 2024, it was announced that Veje had left Everton.[10]

Crystal Palace

On 1 August 2024, it was announced that Veje had signed a contract withCrystal Palace.[11] On 10 June 2025, it was announced that Veje was departing the club upon the end of the2024-25 season, having made a total of 20 competitive appearances for Palace.[12]

International career

Veje debuted on the Danish national team in afriendly againstEngland in 2009. She was named to nationalcoachKenneth Heiner-Møller'sDenmark squad forUEFA Women's Euro 2013 as well as toNils Nielsen'sUEFA Women's Euro 2017 squad.[13]
