Katrin Meissner (German:Katrin Meißner, born 17 January 1973) is a formerfreestyleswimmer fromEast Germany, who won three medals at the1988 Summer Olympics inSeoul, South Korea. The fifteen-year-old triumphed with the GDR women's relay team in the4×100 m medley and in the4×100 m freestyle, and finished third in the50 m freestyle.[1]

Meissner is one of the few East German swimmers to also swim for Germany afterreunification. She representedGermany at the2000 Summer Olympics. Meissner retired in 2004 after not being selected for the2004 Summer Olympics.[2]
