TheKarpovka (Russian:Ка́рповка) is a small river of theNeva basin inSaint Petersburg,Russia. It separatesAptekarsky Island (right bank) fromPetrogradsky Island (left bank). The Karpovka flows from theBolshaya Nevka to theMalaya Nevka and is 3 kilometres (2 mi) long. The Russian name is derived from the oldFinnish name of the river,Korpijoki, meaningforested area river. TheSaint Petersburg Botanical Garden andIoannovsky Convent are situated on the right bank of the river.
