Monika Klisara (born October 29, 1995) is aBosnian-Canadianprofessional wrestler. She is signed toWWE, where she performs on theNXT andEvolve brands under thering nameKarmen Petrovic. After winning national championships inkarate, Klisara made her professional wrestling debut in 2023, thus making her the first Bosnian to perform in WWE to date.
Klisara is a former championKarate competitor. At age 17, she was a member of the Canadian National and the Ontario Provincial Karate teams. She won gold medals at the Fonseca Cup competition, the Ontario Provincial competition and the Ontario Summer Olympic Games.[6]
On November 10, 2022, Klisara was announced as having signed withWWE as part of theWWE Performance Center Fall 2022 Rookie Class, subsequently making her the first ever Bosnian signed to the company.[7] Klisara made her professional wrestling debut on March 11, 2023 at alive event, teaming withZoey Stark in a losing effort againstIndi Hartwell andLea Mitchell.[2]
She made her on-screen debut under thering nameKarmen Petrovic on the July 28, 2023 episode ofNXT Level Up, losing toIvy Nile.[8] On the October 17 episode ofNXT, Petrovic won her first televised singles victory when she competed in the2023 NXT Women's Breakout Tournament, during which she eliminatedJaida Parker in the first round.[2] The following week in the semi final, Petrovic was eliminated byLola Vice.[9] On the July 2, 2024, episode ofNXT, Petrovic went one on one withJazmyn Nyx but lost due to interference fromJacy Jayne. This would set up for a tag team match between Petrovic with fellow CanadianArianna Grace againstJazmyn Nyx andJacy Jayne atNXT Heatwave on July 7, where Petrovic and Grace won. After the match, Grace and Petrovic had a disagreement on who contributed to the match victory, to which NXT General ManagerAva scheduled a match between them.[10][11]
In late September, Petrovic started a romance storyline withAshante "Thee" Adonis.[12] On the November 19 episode ofNXT, Petrovic and Adonis teamed up for the first time to defeatBrinley Reece andDion Lennox in amixed tag team match.[13] On the January 14, 2025 episode ofNXT, Adonis and Petrovic became an official on-screen couple.[14] On the February 18 episode ofNXT, Petrovic won atriple threat match againstJaida Parker andKelani Jordan for aNXT Women's North American Championship match[15] but failed to defeatStephanie Vaquer for the title the following week.[16] On the April 29 episode ofNXT, Adonis scheduled a NXT Women's North American Championship match for Petrovic, who was not prepared for the match and went on to lose against the new NXT Women's North American ChampionSol Ruca. After the match, Petrovic attacked Adonis as he berated her, breaking up with him.[17]
