Karlivka (Ukrainian:Карлівка) orKarlovka (Russian:Карловка) is a village inPokrovsk Raion ofDonetsk Oblast in easternUkraine. It lies approximately 10 miles west ofDonetsk, adjacent toHighway M04, on the southern side of the Karlivske Reservoir.
Its population in 2001 was 414 people.[1]

On May 23, 2014, Karlivka sawfighting between the Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian separatists as part of the2014 pro-Russian conflict in Ukraine.[2][3] On 23 July 2014, Ukrainian forces reportedly secured the village from the pro-Russian separatists.[4]
On 30 August 2024, the settlement was captured as part of Russia'sPokrovsk offensive.[5][6]
Geolocated footage published on August 30 indicates that Russian forces recently advanced south of Karlivka (southeast of Pokrovsk)
