Karl Douglas Pagel (born March 29, 1955) is an American formerMajor League Baseballfirst baseman who played for five seasons. He played for theChicago Cubs from 1978 to 1979 and theCleveland Indians from 1981 to 1983.
In nine minor league seasons, Pagel hit .294 with 163 home runs and 587 RBIs. Pagel was named MVP of theTexas League in 1977 when he played for theMidland Cubs. Pagel was named MVP of theAmerican Association in 1979 while playing for theWichita Aeros. Pagel was named to theInternational League All-Star team in 1982 with theCharleston Charlies. Pagel retired following the 1984 season in which he played for in theMaine Guides.
Pagel lives in thePhoenix, Arizona area, where he has worked as a driver for UPS.[1] Karl is the brother of former NFL quarterbackMike Pagel.[2]
