Karl Rosario King-Nabors[1] is aRepublican member of theNorthern Mariana Islands Senate. FollowingDennis C. Mendiola's elevation to lieutenant governor, King-Nabors is serving as acting senate president pending a formal reorganization session to elect him and his successor as senate vice president.[2]
His parents are William Nabors, an attorney who worked on the settlement of the Micronesian War Claims, and Serafina King, who served for a time as a member of theNorthern Mariana Islands House of Representatives.[3][4] He attendedTinian High School.[5] He served on Commonwealth's COVID-19 Task Force asTinian's representative. He ran for theNorthern Mariana Islands Senate in the 2020 general election against Democratic candidate Frederick Dela Cruz.[6]
He won and succeeded fellow Republican Francisco Borja.[7] He was the chairman of the Senate committee reviewing the House's impeachment charges against GovernorRalph Torres.[8] He, along with the other Senate Republicans, voted in acquit Torres of the charges.[9]
On January 8, 2025, it was announced that King-Nabors would be elected to the position of Vice President of the Senate for the 24th Commonwealth Legislature.[10]
