Kristin Karen Lising Davila-Sta. Ana,[1] known asKaren Davila[3] (Tagalog pronunciation:[ˌdaː.bɪˈla]; November 21, 1970[a]), is a Filipino journalist, radio broadcaster, and advocate. She has been the anchor or host of multiple programs, includingBandila,My Puhunan: Kaya Mo!, andTV Patrol.[6]
As a professional journalist, she has received awards internationally, including an award from the New York Festival and the Ten Outstanding Young Men Awards for Broadcast Journalism in 2008.[8] She has more than 20 awards in the professional journalism field from both local and international organizations. She was also recognized by the Philippine Senate as one of the Outstanding Women in the Nation's Service (TOWNS).[9]Esquire magazine named her the "Sexiest Woman Alive" in 2015, citing beauty and brains as the sheer formula for the declaration.[10]
In August 2023, Karen Davila was appointed as the first UN Women National Goodwill Ambassador for the Philippines, with the goal of furthering a range of objectives, including the promotion of gender equality and women's empowerment, as well as combating climate change.[11][12][13]
Davila is married to DJ Sta. Ana since July 22, 2001, with two sons: David and Lucas.[14][15] She is an advocate for people with special needs, children's rights, government transparency, and journalism.[16] Karen Davila and her husband are evangelical Christians.[17]
Davila announced on January 9, 2022, during her conversation with Filipino physician Tony Leachon in her ANC program, Headstart, that she and her family caughtCOVID-19, although she indicated that they were recovering from the disease.[18] On January 15, she posted on Instagram that she and her fellowTV Patrol anchorsAlvin Elchico andGretchen Fullido have survived COVID-19.[19] On her 52nd birthday, she revealed on Instagram that she had recovered from COVID-19 for a second time.[20]
