Karašica (Croatian:Karašica,Hungarian:Karasica) orBaranjska Karašica orKarassó is a river in southernHungary and easternCroatia.[1] It is 81 kilometres (50 mi) long, of which 30.46 km (18.93 mi) in Croatia.[2] Its basin covers a total of 910 km2 (350 sq mi).
Karašica rises in the southern slopes of theMecsek mountain in southern Hungary, near the village ofErdősmecske. It flows towards the south into a plain, throughSzederkény, and its flow is regulated by man. It continues on throughVillány, turns southeast and enters Croatia near the village ofLuč and meanders inBaranja in an eastward direction. It passes nearPopovac andDraž and flows into theDanube north ofBatina.
