Kameshwar Barma is aPadma Shri awarded person.[1][2] Born on 1 September 1940 in theKokrajhar district of the NorthEast Indian state ofAssam, he is reported to have contributed to the development ofBodo language through his writings and activities.[3] He was also involved withdifferent NGOs[4] and the goodwill activities ofdifferent tribal peoples.[5] The government Of India awards him thePadma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of the country.[6] He served at different positions .[3]
He was awarded the 2020Sahitya Akademi Translation Prize for his translationGibi Bharatni Jerimin.[7]
