Kamal ad-Din (Arabic:كمال‌ الدين,Kamāl ad-Dīn) is a male Muslimgiven name orsurname (laqab in Arabic), meaning "perfection of the religion" in Arabic.

The name is formed from the elementskamāl (كمال‌),al- (الـp), anddīn (دين). It is often transliterated asKamāl al-Dīn, but because the letterdāl (د,d) is asun letter, thelām (ل,l) ofal- assimilates into the first letter ofdīn in pronunciation, resulting in adoubled consonant.

InClassical Arabic the pronunciation of the name changes depending on its function. Thus, thenominative case of the name isKamaluddin (Kamālu’d-Dīn), theaccusative case isKamaladdin (Kamāla’d-Dīn), and thegenitive case isKamaliddin (Kamāli’d-Dīn).
