Kalu Ganga (Sinhala:කළු ගඟ; literally:Black River) is ariver inSri Lanka. The river originates fromSri Pada Peak Wilderness Sanctuary, reaching the sea atKalutara after a 129 km (80 mi) journey. The Black River flows through theRatnapura and theKalutara District and passes the cityRatnapura. The mountainous forests in theCentral Province and theSinharaja Forest Reserve are the main sources of water for the river.[1] TheEdwardian manor,Richmond Castle is on the banks of the river nearKalutara.[2][3][4]
