Kahak (Persian:کهک)^[a] is a city in theCentral District^[b] ofKahak County,Qom province,Iran, serving as capital of both the county^[7] and the district.^[8] It was also the capital ofKahak Rural District^[9] until its capital was transferred to the village ofVerjan.^[7]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 2,766 in 797 households, when it was inQom County.^[10] The following census in 2011 counted 2,906 people in 883 households.^[11] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 4,837 people in 1,480 households.^[2]

After the census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Kahak County, with Kahak as the county's capital.^[7]
