Duty, Dignity and Discipline)[1] is a 1987 IndianTamil-languagecrime thriller film directed bySanthana Bharathi and produced byKamal Haasan, starringSathyaraj,Geetha andCaptain Raju. The film revolves around the story of an honest and straightforwardTamil Nadu police officer and his life.
Kadamai Kanniyam Kattupaadu is a remake of the 1986Malayalam filmAavanazhi.[4][5]Kamal Haasan produced the film, and although an established actor, did not star.[6] Haasan initially planned to remake the Malayalam filmBoeing Boeing (1985) in Tamil; however he dropped the plan and instead choose to remakeAavanazhi.[7]Sathyaraj said he accepted to act in the film because it was a remake of a successful film, and was guaranteed to do well.[7][8]
Kadamai Kanniyam Kattupadu was released on 12 June 1987.[9]Jayamanmadhan ofKalki said Sathyaraj was ruling every frame of the film.[10]
