TheKaczawskie Mountains orKatzbach Mountains (Polish:Góry Kaczawskie;German:Katzbachgebirge) are amountain range in theLower Silesian Voivodeship ofPoland. It is roughly 30 kilometres long and belongs to theWestern Sudetes. Its highest peak is the Skopiec (719 m). To the north of the Kaczawskie Mountains are the Kaczawskie Foothills (Polish:Pogórze Kaczawskie;German:Bober-Katzbach-Vorgebirge).
Theridge, which runs from northwest to southeast at heights between 400 and 700 metres, is afold mountain range consisting oflimestone,slate anddolomite. In the west theBóbr separates the range from theJizera Mountains andJizera Foreland; to the north are the Katzbach Foothills; to the east theRaging Neisse /Nysa Szalona forms the boundary. In the southeast, the Katzbach Mountains merge into theWaldenburg Mountains. To the south, theLandeshut Ridge /Rudawy Janowickie andJelenia Góra Valley form the transition to theGiant Mountains.
