Kabzeel (Hebrew:קַבְצְאֵל,romanized: Qavṣəʾel,lit. 'God gathers') is aHebrew Bible place name. It was the most remote city ofJudah; located in southern Judah on the border ofEdom (Idumaea) (Joshua 15:21). The location is tentatively identified withKhirbet Hora[1] (Horvat Hur), about 10 km (6 mi) ENE ofBeersheba. Kabzeel was the birthplace ofBenaiah, one ofDavid's chief warriors (2 Samuel 23:20;1 Chronicles 11:22).[2] Followingthe Exile, it was resettled under the nameJekabzeel (Hebrew:יקַּבְצְאֵל,romanized: Yəqqavṣəʾel).[3]
