KWTX-FM (97.5MHz) is a commercialcontemporary hit radio station inWaco, Texas. Branded "97.5 FM", the station is owned and operated byiHeartMedia. Its studios are located onHighway 6 in Waco, and its transmitter is located northeast ofMoody, Texas.
KWTX-FM first signed on December 7, 1970 and was the sister station ofKWTX AM andTV. The station aired "The Golden Sound of Beautiful Music,"[2] and kept the beautiful music format until August 1982, when it shifted to Adult Contemporary. The station then moved to CHR in the mid 80s.
