KTOP-FM (102.9MHz) is acommercialradio stationlicensed toSt. Marys, Kansas, and serving theTopeka metropolitan area. It is owned byCumulus Media and broadcasts acountry musicradio format, known as102.9 Cat Country. Theradio studios and offices are on South Kansas Avenue in Topeka.[2]
KTOP-FM has aneffective radiated power (ERP) of 30,000watts. Thetransmitter is off SW Wanamaker Road in Topeka, nearKaw River State Park and theKansas River.[3]
The stationsigned on the air on December 4, 1994; 30 years ago (1994-12-04).[4] While it was still aconstruction permit, it had thecall sign KTPQ. But by the time it debuted, its call letters were KQTP. It was the FMsister station to 1490KTOP in Topeka. KQTP had anoldies format and was owned by Shawnee Broadcasting. In 2009, it changed its call letters to match its sister station, as KTOP-FM.

On October 31, 2014, KTOP-FM rebranded as "Nash FM 102.9".[5] On December 21, 2015, KTOP-FM began calling itself "102.9 Nash Icon".[6]
On September 13, 2021, KTOP-FM dropped its Nash branding. It became "102.9 Cat Country".[7]
