Analog-to-digital conversion

[edit]

Because it was granted an originalconstruction permit after theFederal Communications Commission (FCC) finalized theDTV allotment plan on April 21, 1997,[3] the station did not receive a companion channel for itsdigital signal. KKAP shut down its analog signal, overUHF channel 36, on June 12, 2009, and "flash-cut" its digital signal into operation on UHF channel 36.[4]
