KCPP (1140kHz) is anon-commercialAMradio stationlicensed toCleburne, Texas, and serving theDallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. It carries aChristian radio Catholic-basedformat and is owned by the La Promesa Foundation.

By day, KCPP is powered at 5,000watts, however1140 AM is aclear channel frequency reserved forClass A stationsXEMRMonterrey, Mexico, andWRVARichmond, Virginia. So KCPP reduces its power at night to 710 watts to avoid interference. It uses adirectional antenna at all times. The daytime signal covers the southern section of the Metroplex. The nighttime signal covers a small area mostly south ofFort Worth.

History

As "KCLE" until the end of August 2008, it had aired acountry musicradio format since1947, despite some changes. Thecallsign swap with1460 took place on September 1.

Sometime in the first half of 2008, it increased daytime power to 5,000watts to cover the southern half of the Dallas/Fort Worth area as well asCorsicana andWaxahachie, Texas.

In February 2009 the station was operated via alocal marketing agreement by RV Ministries Inc. under the name Radio Vida "La Voz del Evangelio", with transmission time of 12 hours. "Radio Vida" also broadcasts on 89.9 FM inCooper, Texas.[2]

In August 2011, it switched from its former Spanish language programming to become a 24-hour, all-talk affiliate of theRepublic Broadcasting Network.

KHFX's Texassister stations of SIGA Broadcasting includedKTMR (1130 AM,Converse),KLVL (1480 AM,Pasadena),KGBC (1540 AM,Galveston),KAML (990 AM,Kenedy-Karnes City), andKFJZ (870 AM,Fort Worth). KCPP is now co-owned with stationsKIXL in Austin,KRDY in San Antonio,KSHJ in Houston, andKEES in Tyler-Longview.
