Kolli Santosh Ravindra, popularly known asBobby andBobby Kolli, is an Indian film director andscreenwriter, who primarily works inTelugu cinema. He won the Best Debut Director Award, forPower (2014), at theSantosham Film Awards.
Kolli Santosh Ravindra was born and brought up inGuntur, India. After graduating with aB. Com degree, Ravindra started his film career in 2003 and joined writer Chinna Krishna.[1] He went on to work under several directors includingDasaradh andGopichand Malineni.[2] Ravindra made his directorial debut withPower (2014), starringRavi Teja.[3]
His 2016 directorial,Sardaar Gabbar Singh, starringPawan Kalyan was a commercial failure.[4] His next film,Jai Lava Kusa (2017) whereJr NTR essayed three roles, was a blockbuster at the box office, grossing over₹100crore.[5]
In 2019, Ravindra directedVenky Mama, starringVenkatesh andNaga Chaitanya. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film was a profitable venture.[6] Karthik Kumar ofHindustan Times wrote, "Ravindra tries to milk the real life family bond between Venkatesh and Chaitanya inVenky Mama, which relies heavily on the camaraderie between its lead actors."[7] Hemanth Kumar in his review forFirstpost opined, "In his attempt to blend humour and sentiment, KS Ravindra (Bobby) turnsVenky Mama into a bland drama, where the narrative moves from one set piece to another without leaving a strong impression."[8]
His next film,Waltair Veerayya, starringChiranjeevi andRavi Teja, released in January 2023, forSankranti. This was followed byDaaku Maharaaj in January 2025.[citation needed]
Ravindra is married to Anusha Dronavalli, the elder sister of chess player,Harika Dronavalli.[9] The couple has a daughter born in 2018.[10]
