Juwan Simpson (bornJuwan Garth on July 8, 1984) is an American former professionalfootballlinebacker who played eight seasons for theCalgary Stampeders of theCanadian Football League (CFL). He was also thedefensive line coach of the Stampeders for two seasons.[1]
Simpson playedcollege football for theAlabama Crimson Tide.
Simpson was signed by theGreen Bay Packers as anundrafted free agent in 2007.[2] He was later signed by theCalgary Stampeders with whom he played with for eight seasons where he won twoGrey Cup championships in2008 and2014.[3] He announced his retirement on October 10, 2019, four years after his last game with the Stampeders.[4]
On January 3, 2023, it was announced that Simpson had been hired as thedefensive line coach for theCalgary Stampeders.[3] He held this position for the2023 and2024 seasons. After the 2024 season, the Stampeders announced that Simpson would not be retained on the team’s coaching staff for the 2025 season.[1]
