Justyn Ross (born December 15, 1999) is an American professionalfootballwide receiver for theBirmingham Stallions of theUnited Football League (UFL). He playedcollege football for theClemson Tigers.

Early years

Ross attendedCentral High School inPhenix City, Alabama.[1][2] As a senior, he had 37 receptions for 730 yards and 13touchdowns. Ross was a four-star recruit ranked as the number 45 national recruit and the number 7 wide receiver in the nation receiving offers from severalDivision I colleges such asAlabama,Clemson,Auburn, andDuke.[3] He committed toClemson University to play college football.[4][5]

College career

As a freshman at Clemson in 2018, Ross had 46 receptions for 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns.[6] In the2019 College Football Playoff National Championship againstAlabama he had six receptions for 153 yards and a touchdown.[7][8] As a sophomore in 2019, Ross finished with 865 receiving yards on 66 receptions with eight touchdowns.[9] Ross missed the entire 2020 season due to a congenital fusion condition of his neck and spine steaming fromKlippel–Feil syndrome which required surgery. He was granted a medical redshirt after his surgery.[10] As a redshirt junior in 2021, Ross finished with a team high of 524 receiving yards on 47 receptions and three touchdowns in ten games.[11] Ross finished his career at Clemson ranking 5th all-time in career receiving touchdowns with 20. On January 6, 2022, Ross announced that he would forgo his senior year, and enter the NFL Draft.[12]

Ross was not selected during the2022 NFL draft.[16] He signed with theKansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent on May 7, 2022.[17] On July 25, 2022, Ross was placed on injured reserve due to an offseason foot surgery that caused him to miss the entire season.[18] Ross earned his first Super Bowl championship when the Chiefs defeated thePhiladelphia Eagles inSuper Bowl LVII.[19] Ross was placed in the Commissioner's Exempt List on October 27, 2023, due to his arrest earlier in the week.[20] Ross was later suspended from Week 8 until Week 14.[21] Ross won a second Super Bowl title when the Chiefs defeated theSan Francisco 49ers inSuper Bowl LVIII.[22]

Ross was waived by the Chiefs on August 27, 2024, and re-signed to the practice squad.[23][24] He signed a reserve/future contract on February 11, 2025.[25]

On July 16, 2025, Ross was waived by the Chiefs.[26]

On January 14, 2026, Ross was selected by theBirmingham Stallions of theUnited Football League (UFL).[27]

Legal trouble

On October 23, 2023, Ross was arrested inShawnee, Kansas for domestic battery and criminal property damage of less than $1,000.[28] He pleaded not guilty to both charges and was released on a $2,500bond the next day.[28]
