Junkung, also spelledjungkung orjungkong, is a small wooden sail to motorized boat used byTausug,Sama-Bajau, andYakan people of thePhilippines. It is a fast cargo ship and is commonly used as asmuggling vessel in the maritime borders of the Philippines,Sabah, Malaysia andEastern Indonesia. They are also sometimes used bypirates andAbu Sayyaf terrorists in and around theSulu Sea.[1][2][3][4]

The junkung is smaller than thetempel and can accommodate around 25 to 30 people.[5][6] Unlike the similarly namedjunkun andjukung, it does not have outriggers. It is also a much larger ship than thejongkong, which is adugout canoe.
