Julie Bologna is an American televisionmeteorologist. Bologna was withWFAA inDallas, Texas from April 7, 2012, to April 12, 2015,[1] prior to which she was the chief meteorologist forWPXI inPittsburgh, Pennsylvania until 2011.
Bologna was born inCenter Township, Pennsylvania. She graduated fromPenn State University in 1994 with a degree in journalism and received her broadcast meteorology certificate fromMississippi State University.[2]
While at Penn State, she received an internship atWDVE in Pittsburgh.[3]
After graduation, Bologna began her career at low-powerWMBA-AM inAmbridge, Pennsylvania. She then worked at stations inPhiladelphia,Harrisburg,Altoona,Steubenville, andWheeling before becoming the morning and noon meteorologist atWPXI in Pittsburgh in 1999.[4] In 2004, she left WPXI for a similar position withKTVT inDallas-Fort Worth[5] before returning to WPXI in 2008.[6] Bologna left WPXI on July 13, 2011.[7][better source needed] Bologna has received two local Emmys for her weather reporting.[8] She has also co-authored a book entitledThe Complete Idiot's Guide to Extreme Weather. She was, but is no longer working atWFAA Channel 8 in Dallas. Julie is now selling and renting homes in Texas.
