Julie Ann Augustyniak (born February 1, 1979) is an American former professionalsoccer player who featured primarily as adefender.
Augustyniak was born inNorfolk, Virginia and raised inPeachtree City, Georgia. She went toMcIntosh High School and thenClemson University. While enrolled, she played for theClemson Tigers women's soccer team. She was inducted into the McIntosh High School Hall of Fame in 2015.[2]
She played for theAtlanta Classics of theW-League from 1997 to 2000, before joining the Beat at the team's inception. She was selected in the eighth round of the2000 WUSA Draft by theAtlanta Beat as the 64th overall selection. Her twin sisterNancy Augustyniak also played forAtlanta Beat. They were involved in the first instance of two sets of twins that faced each other in a professional game when the Beat played against theWashington Freedom in 2002.[3]
She joined theF.C. Indiana for the 2005 season. In the summer of 2006, she played for theAtlanta Silverbacks Women.
She marriedChristopher Tuff. She is currently teaching at Holy Innocents' and coaching at Top Hat.[citation needed]
