Jules Archer (January 27, 1915 – November 13, 2008)^[1] was anAmerican author who wrote many volumes of non-fiction history for a general audience and for young adults.

Archer attendedDeWitt Clinton High School inNew York City and theCollege of the City of New York, where he received a degree in advertising.^[1]

Archer served four years duringWorld War II with theArmy Air Forces in thePacific theater. He wrote many books onU.S. history, political events, and personalities, includingThe Plot to Seize the White House: The Shocking True Story of the Conspiracy to Overthrow FDR, andJungle Fighters: A G.I. War Correspondent's Experiences in the New Guinea Campaign.

Archer lived the remainder of his life inScotts Valley, California.^[2] His papers are held by theUniversity of Oregon Libraries.^[1]
