Juan Luciano Pajuelo Chávez (born 23 September 1974) is a Peruvianfootballmanager and former player who played as adefender.

Club career

Born inLima, Pajuelo played for most of his career withAlianza Lima,Deportivo Municipal andUniversitario de Deportes in thePrimera División Peruana.[1] He also had spells withLos Andes andEstudiantes de La Plata in thePrimera División Argentina,[2]Atlas in thePrimera División de México[3] andIonikos in theGreek Super League.[4]

International career

Pajuelo also made 25 appearances for the seniorPeru national football team from 1999 to 2003.[5]

Coaching career

In March 2014, Pajuelo was hired as an assistant manager for his former clubUniversitario.[6] On 1 September 2015, managerLuis Fernando Suárez was fired and Pajuelo took over as a caretaker manager.[7] It only lasted for some days, beforeRoberto Challe was hired.[8]

Pajuelo left Universitario at the end of 2015, and became the manager ofAtlético Torino for the 2016 season.[9] He was fired on 19 May 2016 due to bad results.[10]

In July 2018, he then became the manager ofComerciantes Unidos.[9] He was fired again after two months.[9] In January 2019, he returned toUniversitario and was hired as the reserve team manager.[11]
