TheJournal of Organizational Behavior is apeer-reviewedacademic journal published eight times a year byWiley-Blackwell. The journal publishesempirical reports andtheoretical reviews spanning the spectrum oforganizational behavior research. It was established in 1980 as theJournal of Occupational Behaviour, obtaining its current title in 1988. The foundingeditor-in-chief wasCary Cooper (Manchester Business School), who was succeeded byNeal Ashkanasy (UQ Business School). The current editor-in-chief is Christian Resick (Drexel University).
The journal is abstracted and indexed in theSocial Sciences Citation Index,[1]Scopus,[2]ProQuest,Cambridge Scientific Abstracts,EBSCO databases, andEmerald Management Reviews.[3] According to theJournal Citation Reports, it has a 2022impact factor of 6.8.[4]
The journal sponsors theAcademy of Management's Organizational Behavior Division's annual "Best Dissertation-Based Paper" prize, which recognizes one paper, based on a dissertation, which makes a significant contribution to the OB discipline.[5]
In 2012, it was announced that theInternational Review of Industrial and Organizational Psychology would be published as an annual review issue of theJournal of Organizational Behavior. This issue will be co-edited by Gerard P. Hodgkinson (Warwick Business School) and J. Kevin Ford (Michigan State University).[6]
