Joshua Luis Wiener (born February 8, 1979), known professionally asJosh Keaton, is an American actor. He is known for his many voice roles, includingTakashi "Shiro" Shirogane inVoltron: Legendary Defender,Spider-Man invarious media in addition toElectro in the video gameMarvel's Spider-Man, Jack Darby inTransformers: Prime and the adolescentHercules inHercules. He was also the voice of Ryu Hayabusa in the console versions ofNinja Gaiden, and the voice ofRevolver Ocelot inMetal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. He is also the voice of KingAnduin Wrynn in the MMORPGWorld of Warcraft and Tyler inPokémon Concierge.
Keaton was born outside ofLos Angeles inHacienda Heights, California, on February 8, 1979, to a father fromNew York City, and a mother fromLima, Peru.[1][2] He has three sisters: Danielle, Alitzah "Ali",[3] and Sabrina. He is fluent inSpanish which he learned first as a child, and later English. As a child, he learned to speak someQuechua from his maternal grandparents. His father isJewish and his mother isCatholic.[4] Through his sister Ali, he is the brother-in-law of formerYoungstown singer James Lee Dallas.[5]
His career has included television, video game and film work, with a mixture of live acting and voice work for animations. As an infant, he appeared in anOshKosh B'gosh commercial. Then in 1990, he would appear inKidsongs: A Day at Camp and his finalKidsongs appearance,Kidsongs: Ride The Roller Coaster. He was in the 1990s boy bandNo Authority and was signed to MJJ Music and laterRCA Records as a solo artist.
Keaton voicedJules Brown inBack to the Future: The Animated Series during 1991–1992 andMajor Ocelot duringMetal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater andMetal Gear Solid: Portable Ops.
From 2008 to 2009, he voicedPeter Parker / Spider-Man inThe Spectacular Spider-Man animated series onThe CW. He was originally supposed to voice the character in the 2002Spider-Man video game but his voice work was scrapped and reworked asHarry Osborn / Green Goblin whenTobey Maguire came on to voice the character.[6] He also reprised the role of New Goblin in the 2007 video gameSpider-Man: Friend or Foe, and Spider-Man again in several video games (Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions,Marvel vs. Capcom 3 andSpider-Man: Edge of Time). From 2017 to 2020, Keaton provided the voice of several recurring characters inMarvel's Spider-Man onDisney XD. He would also portray the villainMax Dillon / Electro in the 2018Spider-Man video game developed byInsomniac Games, providing both the physicalmotion capture and voice for the character.
In 2011, Keaton was the voice forSpyro the Dragon in theSkylanders reboot of the franchise,Jack Darby andTailgate onTransformers: Prime, andHal Jordan / Green Lantern inGreen Lantern: The Animated Series.
Since 2012, he is the voice forAnduin Wrynn in the video gamesWorld of Warcraft andHeroes of the Storm.[7][8]
AtWondercon 2016, it was announced that Keaton would play Shiro, one of the main characters of theVoltron animated seriesVoltron: Legendary Defender that premiered on June 10, exclusively onNetflix.[9]
