Josh Cooke (born November 22,[1] 1979) is an American actor.

Early life

Cooke attendedHarriton High School, a small public high school in suburbanRosemont. He was a member of Harriton Theater Company and directed a show his senior year. He has received acting awards including the James Pendleton Foundation Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Performance and the Judith & Milton R. Stark Scholarship. Cooke graduated from theUniversity of California, Los Angeles in 2004, where he majored in theater.[citation needed]

He played the lead role of Nate Solomon inNBC's 2005sitcomCommitted. He appeared in guest roles onWithout a Trace,Century City,Once and Again,10-8, andDragnet.

In 2006, he starred inFour Kings, andBig Day, neither of which was renewed. He appeared inCurb Your Enthusiasm.[2] In 2009, Cooke appeared in theJoss Whedon showDollhouse as Leo Carpenter.[3]

He played Dan Stonewater on thefinal episode ofScrubs and Rabbi Feldman on thefinal episode ofThe King of Queens. In 2009, Cooke played Auggie Harris inSeason 6 Episode 7 onNumbers. Cooke played Ben Coles onBetter with You, a sitcom which began in 2010 and was cancelled after 22 episodes.

Cooke voiced various characters inSeth Green'sRobot Chicken and made several appearances in the Showtime seriesDexter as Louis Greene.

Cooke played Joel Stevens, boyfriend ofRachel Bilson's character Zoe Hart, in CW'sHart of Dixie (season 3) and appears as Sue Heck's college professor on whom she has a strong crush in the seventh season ofThe Middle.

In 2018, he guest starred as Greg inYounger as Caitlin's older boyfriend and as Barry, father to Sheldon's perceived rival, inYoung Sheldon. He played Mallory Hanson's boyfriend, Daniel Penbraith for a while inGrace and Frankie.He portrayed Reeves inCastle Rock. He also guest starred as Mason in episode 9 of season 2 ofThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

In 2020, appeared as journalistLoudon Wainwright Jr. in theDisney Plus seriesThe Right Stuff.

In 2006, Cooke co-starred in the filmWasted as Dixon, alongsideEddie Kaye Thomas andKip Pardue. Cooke also playedChristina Milian's love interest, Eddie, inSnowglobe. He played Eric inYoung People Fucking (2007). He appeared in the 2010 filmA Fork in the Road. He had a small role inI Love You, Man as Alan, a straight married man in a relationship with Robbie Klaven (played byAndy Samberg).[4] Cooke was one of the lead roles in the 2011 horror filmQuarantine 2: Terminal.[5]

Cooke starred as Andy in the 2010 comedyGroup Sex, alongsideGreg Grunberg andOdette Yustman. Cooke played the lead role as Ron in the 2008 direct-to-DVD filmBachelor Party 2: The Last Temptation.

Theatre

In 2016, Cooke was cast in theLa Jolla Playhouse premiere ofPulitzer Prize winner andTony Award nomineeAyad Akhtar'sJunk: The Golden Age of Debt as "Robert Merkin." It will be directed byTony Award winnerDoug Hughes and premiere on July 26, 2016.[6][7][8]

On November 10, 2015, Cooke released his debut album'fō under the stage name "fō".[9] It was executively produced by Cooke and Erik Kertes.[citation needed]

Cooke has been married to Eleisha Eagle since April 2011.[10][11]
