José Estrada Jr. (born August 25, 1973) is aPuerto Rican retiredprofessional wrestler best known for his time in theWorld Wrestling Federation (WWF (now, WWE) as a member ofLos Boricuas.
In theWorld Wrestling Council (WWC), Estrada was known as Super Medico III and teamed with his fatherJosé Estrada Sr. (Super Medico I) as the Super Medicos. The first won theWWC Caribbean Tag Team Championship fromRick Valentine andEric Embry on November 10, 1990, before losing the title back to the team on December 15 of that year. They began their second reign on January 6, 1991, losing the title to Valentine and new partnerGran Mendoza 17 days later.
A few months later, Estrada—now known as Super Medic III—defeated AmericanScott Hall to win theWWC Caribbean Heavyweight Championship on April 20, 1991. He lost the title toRod Price on July 6, 1991. Super Medic III regained the title from Price on July 13, before losing it toFidel Sierra on August 3, 1991. Also, during his career, he worked in various promotions in Japan and Mexico such asFrontier Martial-Arts Wrestling,W*ING,IWA Japan,Universal Wrestling Association andConsejo Mundial de Lucha Libre.
Estrada made hisWorld Wrestling Federation (WWF) debut in June 1997 as a member ofSavio Vega's Los Boricuas stable withMiguel Pérez Jr. andJesús "Huracán" Castillo. They were mainly involved inangles with other stables including theNation of Domination and theDisciples of Apocalypse (DoA). The feud with DoA was voted theWorst Feud of the Year by theWrestling Observer Newsletter. DuringWrestleMania XIV's tag teamBattle Royal, Los Boricuas engaged two teams (Savio and Miguel, and José and Jesús), fighting onRaw is War.
Vega left the group in July, but the remaining members still fought as a tag team onRaw andShotgun Saturday Night until October 1998. Estrada wasinjured while facingEdge in the latter's television debut match on the June 22, 1998, episode ofRaw is War.[3] The incident was the result of abotchedsuicidesenton, which led to Estrada beingcounted out shortly into the match. Los Boricuas competed onSuper Astros until the show ended in August 1999 and all three left the company. Estrada retired from wrestling shortly after.
In 2001, two years after retiring from wrestling Estrada worked a one-night appearance forInternational Wrestling Association (Puerto Rico). In 2005, Estrada came out of retirement and began wrestling full time again, returning toWorld Wrestling Council. His last match was in California at an independent show for Battleground Pro Wrestling losing to The Associate on September 26, 2009.
