José Julio Espinoza Valeriani (born 23 June 1974) is a Peruvianfootball manager and former player who played as amidfielder. He is the current manager ofUniversidad San Martín.
Espinoza also holds an Italian passport.
Born inLima, Espinoza played once forScottish sideDundee United in August 1998, returning to Peru to sign forSporting Cristal.[1] From here, he played for a number of Peruvian sides, includingUniversitario de Deportes,Estudiantes de Medicina[2] andFBC Melgar.[3]
After retiring, Espinoza worked in the youth categories ofUniversidad San Martín. On 15 March 2021, after the departure ofHéctor Bidoglio, he was named first team manager.[4]
