Jon Roper (born(1976-05-05)5 May 1976) is an English former professionalrugby league footballer who played as acentre, wing, stand-off andloose forward in the 1990s and 2000s.
He played at representative level forCumbria andEngland, and at club level forWarrington Wolves,London Broncos,Salford City Reds,Castleford Tigers,Leigh Centurions,Rochdale Hornets,Halifax,Oldham andWorkington Town. He played in numerous positions including;fullback, wing, centre, stand-off, orloose forward.[2]
Roper won acap forEngland while at Warrington in 1999 againstFrance.[3] Roper also toured withGreat Britain in 1996.
Jon Roper is the son of the rugby leaguewing who played in the 1980s for Workington Town; Tony Roper,[4] and the grandson of the rugby league footballer;Sol Roper.[5]
